A Medical Herbalist is a clinically trained practitioner who uses plant-based medicines to support health and treat illness. MNIMH-registered herbalists like Garreth Falls have completed a full degree-level qualification in herbal medicine and are bound by a professional code of ethics. They take a holistic approach, treating the whole person rather than just individual symptoms.

What conditions can herbal medicine help with?

Herbal medicine can support a wide range of conditions including digestive issues (IBS, bloating, reflux), hormonal imbalances (PMS, menopause, thyroid), stress and anxiety, sleep disorders, skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, acne), immune system support, respiratory conditions, cardiovascular health, and chronic fatigue. How does a herbal consultation work at The Wild Sage?

An initial consultation with Garreth Falls typically lasts 60 minutes and can take place in-person at 14 Main Street, Greyabbey, Co. Down, or via video or phone call. Garreth will take a detailed health history covering your symptoms, medical history, diet, lifestyle, and emotional wellbeing. Following the consultation, you will receive a personalised herbal prescription, dietary advice, and lifestyle recommendations tailored specifically to you.

Are herbal medicines safe to use alongside prescription medications?

Some herbal medicines can interact with pharmaceutical drugs, which is why it is important to consult with a qualified Medical Herbalist before starting any herbal treatment. Garreth Falls is trained to assess herb-drug interactions and will always review your current medications as part of the consultation process to ensure your safety.

Does The Wild Sage offer online consultations?

Yes. The Wild Sage offers herbal consultations via video call and phone as well as in-person at our clinic in Greyabbey, Co. Down. Online consultations are available to clients throughout the UK and Ireland.

What does MNIMH registration mean?

MNIMH stands for Member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists — the UK's oldest and leading professional body for medical herbalists, established in 1864. MNIMH registration requires completion of a degree-level qualification in herbal medicine, including training in pharmacology, clinical diagnosis, and herb-drug interactions. Members are bound by a strict code of ethics and professional conduct, and must maintain their practice through continuing professional development.
